Biography:
Dr Terungwa James Age is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of South Africa, Pretoria, in the Department of Mathematics Education. He holds a B.Sc. (Ed) in Mathematics/ Computer Science Education, M.Ed. Mathematics Education and a PhD in Mathematics Education, all from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. Dr Age is also a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science Education at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Nigeria, where he has served as the departmental examination officer, departmental and college students’ adviser between 2019 to 2023. Dr also served as the Head of Department, Computer Science, Lobi School of Management and Technology between 2012 to 2016, Program Analyst and pioneer Head, Compliance Research and Intelligence Unit, Benue State Internal Revenue Services (BIRS), Makurdi from 2014 to 2019. Dr Age was also the Head of Department, Computer Science, Dean, School of Applied and Natural Sciences, and Acting Head, Information Communication and Technology Unit, all at Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology between 2022 and 2023. His research work addresses Artificial Intelligence, digital inequalities, digital literacy, digital inclusion, ethnomathematics, mathematical software, and innovations in STEM education with a strong focus on underserved educational environments and digital pedagogies. He is a member of several professional bodies, which include the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria) (CPN), Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MMAN), the Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications (MSDIWC), Information Technology Professionals Association (MITPA), Association for Innovative Technology Integration in Education (MAITIE), International Society for Academic Researchers (MISfAR), and Southern Africa Society for Education (MSASE). He has attended and presented papers at several conferences and workshops at both national and international levels.
