Biography:
Dr. Albrecht Classen completed his Ph.D. at UVA in 1986 and has served at the University of Arizona since 1987. He received tenure in 1992, the rank of full professor in 1994, and the rank of University Distinguished Prof. in 2004. He is a medievalist and early modernist and has published currently 133 scholarly books and ca. 820 articles. He is the editor-in-chief of several journals (Mediaevistik, Humanities, Current Research in Social and Cultural-Historical Studies). He has received numerous awards for teaching, research, and academic service. In 2022, he received a Fulbright grant for one semester in Cairo, Egypt.
