Biography:
Philip Kennedy, MD, FRCSI, PhD completed his medical school training in University College Dublin Ireland in 1972, a fellowship in General Surgery in 1976, a PhD in Neuroscience at Northwestern University in 1983 and a Neurology residency in 1994 at Emory School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. He practices Neurology parttime and is CEO and Chief Scientist of Neural Speech Inc. He has published 44 refereed papers, 95 abstracts, eight books and 11 patents (issued or pending). He was the first to implant a paralyzed and mute human for communication in 1996 and first to implant for speech production in 2004.
