Biography:
Dr. Terungwa James Age is a leading scholar in mathematics and technology education, currently serving as a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of South Africa and a lecturer at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Nigeria. With over fifteen years of experience, his work sits at the cutting edge of digital pedagogy, artificial intelligence in education, and social justice in STEM. He has published extensively, supervises postgraduate research, and has served as an external examiner for Master’s and doctoral programs across multiple universities in Africa. Renowned for bridging indigenous knowledge systems with emerging technologies, Dr. Age offers transformative perspectives on ethical, inclusive, and future-oriented postgraduate supervision in the age of AI.
His extensive leadership experience includes roles as Head of Department, Dean, and ICT Unit Head at the Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology, Makurdi, Nigeria, as well as Head of Department at the Lobi School of Management and Technology, Makurdi. He also served as a Program Analyst and pioneer Head of the Compliance Research and Intelligence Unit at the Benue State Internal Revenue Service, demonstrating a strong interface between academia, technology, and policy implementation.
Dr. Age is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), the Southern African Association for Research in Mathematics Science and Technology Education (SAARMSTE), the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, and the Association for Innovative Technology Integration in Education, among other national and international associations.
